Ron, what little I have been able to see [on the Gross website] has me in tears of memories.
My mom, brother (Bruce, who passed away in 1973) and sister Sheryl, (who lives in Atlanta with husband Craig and two children Blair, 18 and Max, 16) traveleled to Los Angles in the summer of 1959, after my father was killed in an auto accident in January. We traveled from Nashville out, with Lil and her husband (do not remember his name!) their two dogs, all luggage and no air conditioning in a station wagon. We stayed with Uncle Louie and Aunt Emma, she made fried chicken for my brother who loved it and we stayed the summer. Right before we left, I remember Phil (who was a barber at the time) gave Bruce and me a crew cut, my Mom hit the ceiling!
I have pictures (will have to find) of when they came to Nashville, I can't wait to talk to you and get to know you. When you said you were Phil's son, I did not know which Phil, there is also a Phil Gross in Chicago as well as a Lill Gross Zisook who used to live in Chicago. In addition, one of Mom's brother's is Phil.
I am married to Stacy (married 11/30/91) and we have an 8 year old daughter, Brianna (11/16/96). I was born in 1952 to give you an idea of where I fit in the family.
I will get some pictures together, scan them and send them on.
Gary
