----------------------------

Good morning. Let me introduce myself. I am another Phil Gross living in Birmingham, Alabama. I am the son of Abe and Sarah Gross, and the brother of Charles Gross living in Nashville, TN . You have met Charlie and some of his family during a recent visit to California.

I was born in Chicago, IL on Sept 6, 1927. My father was a brother to Louie. The rest from that point is information that I believe Charlie has given you. I married Betty Jo Lyon in 1948. Together, we had four Children and moved from Nashville to a small town in north Alabama, Haleyville, where I engaged in the retail business for 24 years. My family moved to Birmingham where I owned and operated a small chain of "Bonanza" restaurants. I divorced and re-married Derorah Street in 1980.

My eldest son, Barry Gross, is a physician living in Newport News, VA. He has three daughters: Melissa Gross, an attorney living in New York; Abbey Gross is a graduate school student; and Beth Gross who is also a graduate student. Both girls are living and attending school in Virginia.

My son, Steve Gross, is unmarried and living in Albuquerque, NM. He has one daughter living in Connecticut. Steve is in the electronics business. His daughter, Sabrina, is employed by a brokerage firm in Stamford, CT.

My son, Michael Gross, is a veternarian and operates his practice in Yorktown, VA. Michael is unmarried and has no children. Michael is the youngest son and is 49 years old.

My daughter Lisa Boyce, her husband Walter, and two sons live in Davis, CA. Lisa became a nurse, but has stopped practicing. My son-in-law, Walter is a professor in Veternarian Medicine and teaches at the University of California Davis. My eldest grandson is Will Boyce and will enter high school next year. My youngest grandson is Jeff Boyce, age 14.

My company name is Encore Specialties. I operate a small ad-specialties business.

I hope that in the near future, we will have the opportunity to meet. My brother Charlie has mentioned time and time again how much he and members of his family enjoyed meeeting and visiting with you and your family. I look forward to that opportunity.

Sincerely,
Phil Gross
